I put a couple of really good songs on here. These will change occasionally. The first is an EXCELLENT song to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. The other two are Evanescence songs from The Open Door.

If you like Bring Me To Life

(to me they're similar)

ADELAIDE'S vocal chords were in full force at the Entertainment Centre, when Evanescence dropped in Tuesday night to show off singer Amy Lee's dramatic range.

Though her bandmates wore the customary metal uniform of black, black and more black, Lee emerged from behind a curtain in a black singlet and bright pink skirt.

The band blended chugging riffs and alternative metal foundations with Lee’s soaring voice.

Though the band lost co-founder/songwriter and guitarist Ben Moody, the hole has been more than filled by Terry Balsamo, who, on lastest album The Open Door joined songwriting forces with Lee.

The new album’s epic single Call Me When You’re Sober was one of the highlights of the night.

Lee stalked around the stage in between filling in the song’s keyboard flourishes.

Samples were utilised throughout the show to add strings and operatic choirs, as Lee’s opera inspired voice captured the pain behind the band’s songs.

A grand piano was wheeled out to capture the night’s more mellow moments, but for the most part Evanescence were full of crunch and fire.

And by the time Amy Lee sat down at the piano to begin the encore with the song My Immortal, several thousand South Australian fans had pledged their allegiance all over again.
